A Nice Day.

Today was good. They did an Echo on Luci and it showed the PDA closed! I am learning that i can't get to excited about the wins in the NICU because they can quickly change. For now the news is good she still looks really swollen and I can tell she doesn't feel well. The other girls are doing well I was able to do a "Non- nutritive breast feed" How this works is I will pump and then try and breast feed them. This wasn't as eventful as I had planned. I guess I just thought they would be really into this and they were not. Which is okay this is why they want you to start to introduce it now we have plenty of time. I can't wait until I can nurse them. My body must know we had triplets I have enough milk to feed a small country! We have over 100 bottles in the freezer!!!!!!!!!!!
Lincoln & London have been sneaking into each others beds at night. When I ask them about this in the morning they will say " Oh ya, London was really scared and he needed me to lay by him". They are best friends I couldn't imagine one without the other. Posted by Picasa

This has been a rough week Luci was having a hard time breathing which led them to do another echo of her heart. They found that her PDA is not closed so they started a medication that may close it. Yesterday they did another echo of her heart to see if the medication worked and it did not. They want to try the medication one more time there is only a 10% chance that it will work. They will check her heart again tomorrow morning to see if it worked. The last resort will be surgery which would happen next Tuesday or Wednesday. I think the medication will work.

Baby A: Is doing well she is having a little trouble eating which is Normal for preemies.

On Wednesday I got to Kangaroo Luci and Lilli together it was amazing they were facing each other and Lilli reach out and held on to Luci’s arm she held on for about an hour! It seemed as though she knew Luci was having a hard time.

This situation has made me realize how much I take for granted in my life. Until this my family has been so healthy, I could have never imagined I would not be able to hold and love one of my babies when ever I want. I also never though I could get so much joy out of just the smallest touch with them. Last night I had London sleep with me and I found myself just watching him sleep and breath. Life is so amazing his little body only four years old never forgets to breath and his heart knows to keep pumping.
I don’t feel old enough to have this kind of pain in my life. It feels like there is always something missing. Having kids is so bitter sweet. I can only imagine how my parents felt having eight of us to lay awake thinking about.
I will post current pictures tomorrow.

I am still not up for visitors and phone calls.
I would like to say Thank you to everyone for all of the flowers, phone calls, favors, fasting, prayers, dinners and cookies.

We have been very blessed to be surrounded by so many Angels.

I LOVE YOU ALL!!

Today was good
Baby A had a good day I did a *Kangaroo with her as you can see in the pictures she has a ton of hair! If she would have been full term she would have come out with pig tails!!!
She got her pic line out now both of her little hands are free of cords. She lost 1 oz. I think it was her pic line. She was so alert today it makes it hard to put her blankets down over isolette.

Lucy is doing well they have increased her feedings she looked good. They put her back on oxygen she was having a hard time during the night.

Lilly had a blood transfusion today she is not producing enough red blood cells this is her second one. She seems to be accepting the blood good. I think this will be just what she needs to catch up with her sisters. She is so tiny she is a miracle.

Lincoln had his Kindergarten check up today he got 4 shots ! It was horrible. London was smiling after he got the shots....I guess that's brothers ! What he doesn't realize is that his appointment is next week and he need 5 shots!!!

Austin and I will be making a skate movie tomorrow he is very excited. I just want to spend time with him and if this is the only way he will hang out with me so be it! of course he will be bringing 5 friends because that's how they come when they hit 10 years old in packs of 5 !!

Today was a good day for all the girls.

Baby A Had a good day she is so alert she looks like I could just take her home right now!. She will be getting her *pic line out today one less cord attached to her little body is a good thing. They have increased her feedings again and she seems to be doing okay. Feeding the girls is the next hurdle we will face they will let me try to breast feed in about 2-3 weeks!

Baby B Has made huge progress she is on room air. The only tube on her face is the feeding tube in her nose. I did a Kangaroo with her today for over an hour she is so sweet I think I am going to name her "Lucy".

Baby C She is doing well they have increased her feedings also and said they may remove her pic line tomorrow. I think I am going to name her "Lilly".

*Pic Line- is a small IV that they put in their hand and the tube goes all the way up the shoulder and down into her chest this is good for direct medication and fluids

Lincoln got very sick last night so he has been laying around.
London has been hanging out with Dad today he told the neighbor " My mom is sad cause her miss her babies"

May 20,

I just got home from seeing the girls they are all doing well. I did a kangaroo with C today for well over an hour it was wonderful! Their nurse was telling me that she thinks B is afraid of the dark because whenever she pulls her blankets down she starts to cry! She thinks she has the most spunk.

She was the Charge Nurse the day I had the girls she said they were not expecting the twins to have the problems they did and she said if I would have gone much further I most likely would have lost one. I could never figure out why I went into labor as sudden as I did. I guess as the old saying goes "Life makes so much sense when we look back" These girls are such miracles I am so lucky to be their mom.

We are taking the boys to a movie tonight.

Today was a good day for the babies they are all doing well nothing has changed from yesterday they did start feeding Baby B breast milk so they are all eating !
As you can see I did a kangaroo with A today she is so beautiful and has the sweetest eyes.

The visit today was a little crazy they had life flight bring another baby in their pod . It was just one baby born at cottonwood she a looked a full term baby. Her dad came in after a while. It breaks my heart to see another family get on the ride of the NICU roller coaster.

It has been a hard day for me . The more I see my little girls the more I love them and the more I miss them . I can't imagine doing this until the end of July.

May 18,

Today was a good day for all of us.

Baby A: She has had a a few more Apnea spells today so they have put her on oxygen and they will test her blood tomorrow to see if she has an infection. They are not to alarmed by this the Doctor said it is very common with premies. When I went to see them today she was so awake her cute little eyes trying to focus it really takes my breath away! . She also just loves to kick her legs.

Baby B: Has made great improvements she has one less needle in her cute little body because she doesn't need to have her blood pressure on the monitor. They feel it has regulated enough to check it with the cuff every 3 hours when they do her Cares*. They got the results of the Heart echo her PDA (valve in her heart) has closed a little !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are optimistic that it may close on it's own so they are going to wait on the medication. Her Kidneys are still looking good and they are no longer giving her anything for blood pressure. They may start giving her breast milk tomorrow. I did a kangaroo with her today which was great I can still smell her on my skin. I am amazed how much I love these little girls already. She was moved out of the swamp and in to an isolette like her sisters which is a great step.

Baby C: She is doing very good she pooped out of her diaper and all over her isolette while I was holding baby B the poor nurse had to change everything!! She really likes her milk ! They ave increased it to 3 cc. She is still the smallest of the three however I have a feeling she will become the biggest.

They all took a holiday from the labs today.

Lincoln and London: They have been living in the water all week and I am starting to call them the Backyardagins! They love getting the pool out and having lunch on the back patio where we eat every meal. I really love being home with them they are so cute with each other . Lincoln saw a little girl tonight and said "I am going to marry Maria" when Tenesha asked why he said "She's beautiful!" ans "She's in my heart" . London has fallen in love with this book someone just gave him?????? called "Little Sister" He wants to read it all the time. So between that and the technicolor dream coat movie he is in bliss!
Austin has finished the club house and now he is praticing a lot with his band. They are getting ready to perform the song he wrote in the talent show. I will keep you all posted on the date (I know this will be very good!) . One of my neighbors stopped by and said "I saw your son the other day riding his skateboard down the street playing his guitar and I thought he is way to cool for Sandy!!!" I have to laugh this is really so true sometimes he reminds me of the kid in the original "Bad News Bears"!!

Troy has been so wonderful I feel so blessed to have him as my husband he has been so amazing. He took a much need break today and went golfing with a few friends. I have started to feel better today this has been such a roller coaster ride for me. I love all of you so much.

Thank you for all of your love and support.

*Cares is done every 3 hours and is the only time they disturb the babies they change their diapers, take their temp, comb their hair with a little tooth brush, use the sponge to wash out their mouth, listen to their heart and change their sleep position. They have to really limit the time they disturb them because the best thing for them is sleep.
